Traditional Hog Roasts

Your wedding guests will feast on a prime Dorset reared, free-range hog with a mouth-watering array of salads and accompaniments.

As always, when you book Merlins to cater for your event, everything is taken care of for you.  You will be coordinated by Merlins skilled Wedding Manager on the day and invited to approach the hog roast, salads, breads and dessert selections where the Merlins Team will be on hand to help serve the items.  

It is a lovely, relaxed approach, but orchestrated behind the scenes with the same precision to ensure that you do not feel unattended or find yourself in a lengthy queue.  Younger guests enjoy visiting the food selection with their adult counterparts and a Merlins bride receives extra special attention, naturally!

And what of your vegetarian guests?  Please assure them that they will be extremely well-catered for with Merlins as your hosts.  This is an area we take enormous pride in for continually surprising our vegetarian clients with thoughtful, tasty dishes, prepared with care and served discreetly.

Not only that, we encourage you to ask anyone who might be attending with highly specialised dietary requirements, to contact us directly.  We want your food to be a success for your entire party and we have expert knowledge to help make sure that this is achieved.

Our hog roasts are also a popular choice for an evening reception, served simply with the stuffing, crackling and home-made apple sauce and then served in a fresh white bap.  Again, vegetarian guests are automatically catered for with the usual Merlins care and attention.

A succulent whole free-range Dorset pig, spit roasted served with Merlins own sage and onion stuffing golden crackling and homemade apple sauce (plus additional mustard, relishes and condiments)
