Samantha Martin and Jon Stevenson at Parley Manor, Friday 20th June 2014

What an honour for us to be able to share Sam and Jon's special celebration with you all. Sam's good nature and infectious humour paved the way for a blissful wedding day for all who attended, you can see the smiles captured beautifully by Leslie from BH13 Photography

We are well acquainted with Sam, who is responsible for looking after so many of our brides-to-be from her studio, literally just along the lane from where Merlins are based at Parley Manor. Hair by Sam at Parley Studio,, could be where you pop in for your regular cut and blow dry or to be treated to Sam's expertise as a professional wedding stylist. Brides, mother-of-the bride, bridesmaids, she looks after them all!

And so for Sam's arrival on her wedding day. Well, we just knew she would look stunning and her flawless make-up, so light and natural was a triumph by Kate, Sam's business partner at Parley Studio. She is such an expert and a lovely person to have around when preparing for a special occasion.

Sam and Jon hired in Blackcurrant Smoothie coloured table linen to complement their colour scheme which the Merlins Set Up Team pristinely ironed into place. As they continued to set all the crockery, cutlery and glassware, Julie Nicholls took care of all the other creative elements on the tables and Parley Manor marquee, . The table centre pieces of decorated branches were so striking with delicate lace and pretty fresh flowers and what a gorgeous wedding cake by the very popular Miss Ingredient

Sam and Jon were extremely thoughtful hosts. With their marriage ceremony taking place off-site, Merlins eagerly awaited their arrival to serve sparkling wine with cassis and a fresh raspberry to everyone. A delicious fruit cocktail awaited those who preferred an alcohol-free beverage. It was a hot day and so the bottles of iced, filtered water were also a welcome addition. With the drinks served alongside Merlins handmade canapés, the time spent in the lower garden simply flew by as Parley Manor Partner, Tim Hender played beautiful arrangements on the keyboard.

With group photographs over, it was time for the wedding breakfast. For this, Sam and Jon selected a sit-down, served menu to include a starter, main course and dessert followed by coffee on the lawn after speeches. Incorporated into the menu, were provision for vegetarians, a gluten free guest, a guest with a nut allergy and also a separate menu for children. The feedback was fantastic from all who dined :)

Evening guests arrived in timely fashion, again greeted by the Merlins Team with a welcome drink, compliments of the bride and groom. With DJ Dave, and a live band, the party really started, only for a brief interlude mid-evening for a finger buffet before continuing into the night.

Sam and Jon, it really was our pleasure.

Very sincerely from
